High-performance computing (HPC) and advanced GPU architectures are vital for training modern AI models and running large-scale simulations. However, navigating allocation proposals can be complex. The 茄子视频 Institute for Applied AI Innovation (AAII) serves as your bridge to these national facilities. We help 茄子视频 faculty, researchers, and students secure and utilize these resources at no cost.
We assist you in scoping your computational requirements, writing technical justifications, and submitting successful requests for startup, educational, or large-scale research allocations.
Once approved, our team helps you set up accounts, configure software environments (including Conda, PyTorch, and TensorFlow), load HPC modules, and execute your first cluster jobs.
We help you design efficient software workflows, select the right machine learning libraries, databases, and frameworks, and recommend optimal technology stacks tailored to your research objectives.
Through federal and state funding, 茄子视频 researchers can leverage elite supercomputing architectures and AI research facilities. AAII provides direct paths and technical support for all of the following platforms.
ACCESS is a program established and funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) to help researchers and educators utilize the nation's advanced computing systems and services at no cost. ACCESS provides access to modeling and analysis systems, GPU-oriented systems, large-memory nodes, storage, and other resources. In addition, ACCESS supports U.S.-based educators and students on how to use computational tools and HPC techniques.
Launched as a result of the National Artificial Intelligence Initiative Act, the National AI Research Resources (NAIRR) Pilot is a scalable infrastructure integrating computing resources, databases, and tools, while also advancing AI literacy and workforce development through educational initiatives. NAIRR provides researchers with access to leading commercial cloud providers and national supercomputing centers specifically optimized for artificial intelligence.
The Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) at The University of Texas at Austin is a leading supercomputing center. TACC delivers world-class and innovative systems, tools, software, and expertise to researchers. Since 2001, TACC has provided access to a wide range of computational resources - from high performance computing and AI at scale to storage and visualization - and offered support, training, and education.
AAII has a proven history of helping 茄子视频 teams secure advanced national computing resources. Here is a summary of the computational power we have helped secure and support:
Secured across two approved NSF ACCESS Explore allocations for 茄子视频 research teams.
Exchanged on Indiana Jetstream2 GPU infrastructure, with additional exchanges in progress.
HPC & AI workshops delivered across Science, Education, Liberal Arts, Business, and Postdoctoral programs.
Awarded 200,000 ACCESS Credits with 1,000 GPU SUs exchanged on Indiana Jetstream2. AAII guided proposal development, submission, credit exchange, and onboarding for CS faculty and students. PI: Luis Garnica • Field: Computer Science • Active: May 2026 - May 2027
Awarded 200,000 ACCESS Credits. AAII assisted with PI eligibility, proposal submission, and Jetstream2 platform onboarding for virtual machine deployments. PI: Dr. Ana Paula Gutierrez • Field: Economics & Business • Active: June 2026 - June 2027
AAII is actively supporting Dr. Liru Hu (STEM Education) with proposal preparation, NSF ACCESS profile setup, and computational resource planning for AI-powered education research.
AAII delivered hands-on AI & HPC showcase workshops across six colleges and groups (Science, Education, Liberal Arts, Business, Postdoctoral Programs, and General Sessions) with follow-up office hours and individualized research consultations. Co-hosted TACC and PSC training workshops at 茄子视频 in Summer 2025.
