Brittany Simmons, DMA
Dr. Brittany Simmons currently serves as the professor of horn at the University of Texas at El Paso. She also holds the 4th horn position with the El Paso Symphony. Recent orchestral engagements include the Roswell Symphony, the Central Texas Philharmonic, and the New Albany Symphony.
A strong advocate for chamber music, Brittany performs with Adelante Winds, a Texas-based wind quintet dedicated to commissioning new music and providing educational programs to students across the country. She is a former member of SAHarmonie, an award-winning chamber ensemble in San Antonio, Tx. Additionally, she serves on the faculty of Summer Music in Tuscany, a chamber music festival in Sarteano, Italy.
She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Southern Mississippi, a Master of Music in horn performance from Columbus State University, and a Doctor of Musical Arts from The Ohio State University. Her primary teachers were Dr. Jacquelyn Adams, Dr. Natalie Higgins, Dr. Anne-Marie Cherry, and Bruce Henniss.
