External Funding

The Graduate School offers resources designed to support graduate students in identifying and applying for external funding sources. These sources support students' various research and scholarly activities and are awarded by entitites outside of 茄子视频.  This page provides resources available to search for funding, upcoming workshops, and some award announcements. 


To search for external funding sources, access the Pivot Funding Database or other publicly available databases listed on this page. Before you apply for external funding, let us know by emailing gradfund@utep.edu. 

Secihti Scholarship Information Session

This webinar takes place on Wednesday, April 15 at 12:00 pm MT online via Zoom. Program managers for the Secihti Scholarship will be present to answer any questions you have about this opportunity, which is specifically for doctoral students and prospective doctoral students with Mexican citizenship. for more information on Secihiti and register via  to attend.

 

April Writing retreat for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars

Any writer, any writing! Looking to make progress on your scholarly writing? Join your fellow graduate students or postdoctoral scholars on Friday, April 17 from 8:30-11:00 AM in IDRB 2.204. This retreat offers a focused and supportive environment for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars working on larger writing projects and provide peer support and accountability. DEVELOPING PERSONAL AND RESEARCH STATEMENTS

This webinar will be held on Tuesday, April 21 at 4 pm MT and will provide tips on developing personal and research statements necessary for external funding applications. All postdoctoral researchers and graduate students are invited to attend. Presenters include Felipe Martinez and Dr. Maryanne Long. Review their bios and register to attend via . 

The following are some opportunities we are aware of. Searching other resources to find funding opportunities is advised. 
  • The  IELTS USA Andrea Scott International Graduate Scholarship  is a $5000 tuition scholarship that is awarded to an international graduate student enrolling in an accredited US college or university. The scholarship is open for new students who are admitted for a Fall 2026 start term, and it can be renewed for up to three years if you maintain a good academic standing. The application window is now open with a deadline to apply by April 10, 2026. Review eligibility, selection criteria, and application via .

Cientifico Latino, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization and offers a fellowship database for STEM-related pursuits.

Pathways to Science maintains a page specifically for prospective and current STEM graduate students to search for fellowships, funding opportunities and to access other resources. 

The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) maintains a page called GRAPES which includes several hundred scholarships, grants, fellowships, and postdoctoral awards.
